The villa of Marchena is located in the valley of the Guadalquivir River, specifically in the Sevillian countryside, approximately 60 km to the east of the capital. The basis of its economy is the agriculture, because it is a plain area with fertile lands irrigated by the river Corbones and traditionally dedicated to the cultivation of the olive grove (olive oil and table olives) and of the cereal (wheat and barley). With a population of just over 20.000 inhabitants and an extension of 377 square kilometers, it is a very well connected area.
